Currently, participants in the fediverse social network are left with two choices; either use an incorrect/inaccurate icon based on a specific software, or a gaudy icon with negative connotations (of witchcraft). Most choose the former. This has the ill-effect of elevating one implementation of Fediverse software, and creates a false impression of fediverse's topology and had negtive effects on the fediverse generally. Since Feb 2021, DSFGS in collaboration with /Freed Creative/ and others has been working on a Fediverse icon and this is the result of much feedback, review and iteration. ![Fediverse icon display showing the version of the icon for more websites with a more muted color palette](posters/fediorigami_organic_display.jpg) This icon pack, the author calls "#fediOrigami", is developed based on an origami boat turned on its side. The overlapping, semi-transparent "folds" are their own entities, but interact with each other to form an 'F' and also create a silhouette of part of a star. A star being an homage to the previous but seldom-used icon design which was a connected five pointed star. *Only some of the 'party' ( ![](fediverse-icons/party_duotone_purple_16.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_duotone_blue_16.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_duotone_green_16.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_duotone_red_16.svg) ) versions are shown here. See above list for different sizes and the 'organic' colored version. (NOTE: Icons are Plain SVG but have yet to be properly optimised. The Scour (v0.31) export feature in Inkscape is broken. That project is hosted on MicrosoftGH (https://github.com/scour-project/scour) and the author was disinterested in contacting a Microsoft user. # Line-styled ![](fediverse-icons/party_line_16.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_line_28.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_line_32.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_mixed_onLight_purple_48.svg)![](fediverses-icons/party_mixed_onLight_blue_48.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_mixed_onLight_green_48.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_mixed_onLight_red_48.svg) # Black-and-white / greyscale ![](bnw_small_line.svg) ![](bnw_small.svg) ![](bnw_medium_line.svg) ![](bnw_large_mixed_a_48.svg) ![](bnw_large_mixed_b_48.svg) ![](bnw_large_mixed_c_48.svg) # Peertube ![](fediverse-icons/party_red_profile_32.svg) ![](fediverse-icons/party_red_wide_32.svg) Peertube is the Fediverse's answer to YouTube.
